What happens when the power goes out?
Because the Aurora is powered by the Hybrid Battery Drive, the elevator works as normal during a power outage.
Is an elevator machine room required?
No, in most cases all of the electrical components can be mounted inside the elevator hoistway. If space is limited, the electrical panel can be mounted at any floor outside of the hoistway.
Why is the weight capacity only 950lbs?
The Aurora can easily handle a 1000lb or 1400lb weight capacity, however; the elevator code restricts the weight capacity to 950lbs in Ontario.
How reliable is the Aurora?
Due to the simplicity of the Hybrid drive system and electrical system, the Aurora is one of the most reliable home elevators on the market today.
Can you use commercial grade cab doors?
Yes! The Aurora is not restricted to any one door system. Available door systems include manual sliding doors, automatic side sliding doors, accordion gates, bi-fold doors and more.
Are custom cab sizes available?
Yes, the Aurora comes in many sizes and custom sizes are available. The Aurora can utilize smaller hoistway sizes than a traditional hydraulic elevator allowing larger cabs in a standard hoistway.
